Price Generator

I think the biggest problem players have while trying to buy/sell animals on HP is simply pricing the animal. I would like to come up with some sort of formula that can work on most animals. There would be a separate equation for horses and dogs. below are some ideas as to what i am saying. ignore actual numbers, that is what i need to work out. any suggestions, comments, or ideas are welcomed and encouraged.. - multiply animal points x 5 - subtract 100,000 for each foal - add 20,000 for each generation in lineage. - add 50,000 for an image - subtract 10,000 for each game age of animal - add 2,500 for each club/association EXAMPLE A store-lined 7 year old with 555,960 points, 0 pups, an image, and registered with 7 animals would be worth approx. 2.8 mill. Obviously the #s need to be tweaked so that the outcome for each equation is reasonable. If you have any more information feel free to contact me! Even if this doesn't make it as an actual page/generator on the game, I would love feed back from players (either negative or positive)  |

Price generators are very hard to do, because what is and isn't worth anything will change depending on what players want over time. There'd be no possible way NOT to adjust it all the time and still have it make sense, and then it would be kind of pointless.I mean, it's a great idea as an unofficial system, but as an actual thing built into the game, I don't think it would work. |

That's fine Sam! I understand completely. However, if there are any other players who would be interested in helping me come up with some sort of formula, I would really appreciate your help. Not only would you benefit from helping me with this, but the whole HP community would benefit |

I think something like this could be useful for making an approximation of what to price your animals at. I usually just sell my foals/pups for a base price of 5 mil unless they have great lines because I don't know how to price it otherwise.. I'll try something like this next time I'm selling backups |

It also depends on the rarity of the animal... because a 5miller Black Forest Horse isn't worth as much in the market of 5miller Arabians. The only way pointed rares are worth ANYTHING is if you sell them in a group with a graphic. And they still won't sell like that one Arab will. I think the best way is to discuss it with your buyer...  |

Sounds like a Kelly Blue Book for horses and dogs, lol. I don't sell or buy animals other than from the store, but I like this idea! It's original. |
