Deleting Animals

I was going through the 10 pages of quarter ponies and saw alot on accounts that havent been logged into for YEARS. I thought maybe there could be a mass deletion of the horses on un-used accounts that dont have names and have 0-300k pts. It would clean up the pages... I realize with major breeds it may be hard since there is more than 10 pages...but i just hate seeing 0 ptd horses sitting there! I dont know how hard that would be since someone would have to manually delete them all Or maybe it could be a breed ambassadors job to go through pages...since stud books would usually need to be notified if a horse is deceased and what not... This way an ambassador would actually have to do more for their breed...i know again some breeds have a ton of horses but hey, they chose that breed right?! Lol |

I like this idea, Aussies have 54 pages of dogs, with 10 pages of 9k-0 points. ā Like a drum, baby, don't stop beatingā |

A clean up may be good! It would be less information in the game's database, and make it easier to search for animals! My only minor objection is that it would reduce the overall number of horses on the game, which I know some people use as a metric of deciding how "big" a game is when they are deciding if they want to join or not. So that's something to think about! Otherwise, I think we could theoretically start with animals that were never trained on banned accounts or accounts that were never active, it would also have to be animals that were never bred so that lines wouldn't break. Ā EDIT: Oh, but actually we could go through and retire them, so that their deceased page is still there with their info, and any lines wouldn't break, but they wouldn't show up in searches. Food for thought. Ā I'm interested in more opinions on this! |

I think this would be good. Ambassadors could go through their breeds and send a list of horses/dogs they recommend for deletion and Sam get the final say when going through them. |

And who wouldnt wanna join hp? Or CP(today) lolĀ And why would they wanna base it off of horses or dogs with no points? I think the game would look better if all the 100yr old 0 ptd horses(or horses with less than 100kpts) were deleted would be more desire-able to me... I suppose the retirement think with the ptd horses would be ok, but i hope the 0 ptrs get deleted! Atleast haha! |

Definitely an interesting idea. Ā I'm kinda on the fence about it. I feel like I need to walk away and process the pros and cons :P |

It'd definitely be a good thing, I think, to have a system to remove the inactive horses and dogs on the site. I'm not sure what the specifics would be yet, but it'd certainly be helpful when searching. (Although for me, I own rarer breeds so there aren't many animals in my searches anyway) |

I'm all for retiring the animals. That way the numbers are still on the login page, and if there was a line it's not lost.Ā |

I agree with retiring, as now that's no longer much of an issue. A standard would need to be set in order for that to be done, though. Like under (x)k points, over retirement age, player has not logged in for one year.Ā Ā I would do something like under 10k points. Even I can manage that with my shoddy training.Ā |

I think is a really good idea! I'm not opposed to deletion of 0 pointed horses on banned accounts. I'm also for breed ambassadors doing the work! Retiring is fine, too, but don't these horses still show up in the search results? |

What about if we just started out by deleting all those named Store Horse (or Store Dog) over the age of 20 with 0 points and go from there? |

I like the retiring idea and as the Pintabain Ambassador I would definitely be down for being responsible for retiring low pointed horses that don't have active breeders. :-) |

I agree with Blitz, we should start out with animals that are past retirement age, unnamed, and without points. From there, we can decide what more should be done. I also like what Chaotic said: animals with less than 10k points and over retirement age whose owners haven't logged on in at least a year sounds like a good set of requirements.Ā Also, retirement over deletion is something I'm in favor of. |
