dog litters

I think this would drive more people to produce dogs, horses are the forefront on this game (It is, of course, "horse" phenomena!) but there are so many dog breeds which are forgotten about, so I thought of this idea that might boost the dog market, and simulate real life more... Dog litters. What if when you bred dogs you had the chance to get litters of puppies? I'm not talking about twins, I'm talking about perhaps if you bred your dogs you could get maybe up to 1-3 puppies? Of course you could make it so 1 is the most common but it wouldn't be THAT uncommon to get 3 pups or so? You can always delete the ones you don't want.... I think this would make dog breeding (let alone, all the breeds) way more appealing and realistic! What do you guys think? |

Definitely - it's also a little more realistic? |

I agree that this is a neat idea and would add an element of realism to dog breeding on here, but we seem to have a problem lately with "extra" babies... Even though a lot of players have been trying to foster breeding communities and trade/sell offspring, I don't think it's picked up all that much yet. TBH, I think the end result of litters would just be a lot of dogs getting deleted (or left sitting in an account somewhere).. I'm not really sure how it would boost the dog market. That's just my opinion, of course! If this was going to be implemented, I like the 'randomization' method Bellicus suggested (might get one puppy, might get three, etc.). :)(PS. Totally irrelevant, but this suggestion made me think of the Petz games! If anyone else is old enough to remember them!!) |

I support. I was just thinking about this the other day actually. |

I like this idea.Maybe it would increase the amount of people who would buy pups, thus benefitting the market. :) |

I don't know really. The economy isn't too great with regard to the buying and selling of pups/foals. Most people tend to make agreements with one-another, and the back-ups will be sold. I don't think that a litter would make a difference at all. |

I think it would be a great idea. More people would do projects so that they could get a good price on their litters O_o The idea still has to be tweaked a bit tho. |

Maybe it would even lower pricing a smidge, because if people *did* want to buy pups,it would take money out of the economy.I'm not saying this is the solution to all of our inflation problems, but it could help.Especially if more popular breeds were started(I might be tempted to start German Shepherds if I could ever afford to upgrade more than two accounts :P). |

I agree with adeina - I still have trouble seeing how this would benefit the market? For example, I just sold the backup puppies from my CBR lines - though it's not a super popular breed, my backups were pointed (100k+), lined (6th/3rd gen, from the highest pointed CBRs on the game), AND they were a breeding pair.. And only one person was interested. I sincerely doubt that more puppies floating around in the game would help. Maybe if they were GSDs or Labs, but even so. Not too sure about this. |

Mobius - it wouldn't take any money out of the economy at all. Money would just be transferred between players. Unless HP charged you money to breed (which isn't a good idea. :P ).I also don't see how it would benefit the market. I just see a lot more animals being made, cluttering up the server, and being deleted. :/ Personally, anyway. |

What Adranth said. I don't really see it helping at all. If you breed dogs normally anyways you still end up with 2 or 3 dogs. Then if your dog had 3 litters with 3 each, that's 9 pups just sitting there. Backups get deleted most times anyways, and unless it's a big breed with a lot of attention and people wanting to get in on it, then that's just more to cleanup. |

Personally I think it is a good idea. You then only would need to breed once or twice. I personally think the back up thing is weird. Like no one has backups in real life. You get what you get and work with it. Have a litter of pups would be really useful if some one wants to keep one and sell the others to some one who also wants a pup. If people just started looking around and selling and buying pups from each other the need to buy stores would be decreased. Thats just my opinion anyway. |

This just doesnt seem helpful at all. It doesnt take money out and congests the game with un wanted animals. Plus it doesnt hurt my feelings to have stores. Most of my breeds are 1 to 2 breeders anyways so i just buy stores. |

A lot of animals wouldn't be really be made in relation... There are a TON of dog breeds out there that are hardly even touched. If every one of those breeds were to be played to full potential (which I would assume the game wants, since that is why they are offered) That would make THOUSANDS of dogs... which you guys don't even want..Why offer all the breeds if the game doesn't even want "extra" animals? Then the game should just offer like 5 dog breeds and just say, that's it and be happy with it, we don't want extra animals. What I meant by boosting the economy was that if dogs were made more realistic on here, and produce occasionally a small litter up to three, it might make more players play dogs who otherwise wouldn't.. This would boost the dog economy because more of the inactive breeds are being played/traded around, thus leading to more breed accounts being upgraded. I only have 4 upgraded accounts because I only have one single horse breed. IF dogs had something else offered that wasn't exactly like horses I would do dog breeds too and upgrade those accounts, like a few other players I've talked to off of HP with the same opinion. Since dogs are basically just the same as horses, I just think what's the point, it's boring, I'll breed one breed...This is just my opinion, it isn't my game. But people are so stuck on a few extra pixels being somehow a bad thing, and the same time complain there's no other breeders of your breed to play with. HP is better than HL, but one awesome thing about HL is that they weren't afraid of the extra animals back in the day, and there was a way better community there. |

If they only offered 5 dogs breeds this entire game would fail. We're not saying more dogs is bad. We're saying more 'useless dogs that will more than likely be deleted' is not exactly helpful. And I don't base my breed choice on who is offering pups. I choose what breed I thoroughly enjoy. Personally, I don't even like the fact that some very well known breeds aren't even offered, and therefor have to be added, but that's a different story.I'm not against having more dogs. But a dog possibly producing 3 puppies, if anything, is only more work for me and whoever has to mass delete animals. A large majority of players on this game keep their lines private. I think I've sold 1 dog before, wasn't even the main breed I was doing, and it went to crap. I've never bought a dog from someone nor do I plan to. I'll always keep my lines private, but that's just me.Also, how can dogs being the same as horses make them boring? By that, do you mean horses are boring too? If dogs had 1 or 3 puppies I highly doubt there will be an influx of people rushing to start dogs. I love horses in real life, but for some reason I've always been fond of breeding dogs on this game. If horses had some extra thing that dogs didn't, I still wouldn't switch or start up horses. People will stick with what they like. And there are already thousands of dogs. |

I rarely, if ever sell my dogs/pups. I work hard to get my dogs to where I want them. I breed several breeds but only concentrate all my time, effort and money on two breeds. The German Shepherd and the Rare Roman Rottweiler. I know several players have been trying to get the more rare breeds more active and that is great but is having more dogs sitting around not being used helpful? Its gotten better since the animals are no longer deleted deleted and just say deceased if in a line. But I keep my lines strictly private I don't know how having a litter would benefit the game. I only breed my dogs twice-to get the maximum amount of points I can in the pup. |

People need to stop trying to get jp more realistic. Sam has mentioned on more than 1 occasion that hp2 is going to be super realistic. |
