dog litters

I think this would drive more people to produce dogs, horses are the forefront on this game (It is, of course, "horse" phenomena!) but there are so many dog breeds which are forgotten about, so I thought of this idea that might boost the dog market, and simulate real life more... Dog litters. What if when you bred dogs you had the chance to get litters of puppies? I'm not talking about twins, I'm talking about perhaps if you bred your dogs you could get maybe up to 1-3 puppies? Of course you could make it so 1 is the most common but it wouldn't be THAT uncommon to get 3 pups or so? You can always delete the ones you don't want.... I think this would make dog breeding (let alone, all the breeds) way more appealing and realistic! What do you guys think?

What if the game offered a license for like 50-100 mill, that you can buy for a dog, and that dog could have a litter.This solves the problem with -unwanted dogs, because people would ONLY buy the license for a dog they really want to have a litter for, and want to keep/use the puppies-Another way for HP to pull money out of the economy because I'm sure there are dog breeders who would actually buy it multiple times.-Makes the game more realistic-Doesn't bother anyone who DOESN'T want the litter idea. |

The reason I don't think many people would be interested in this is mostly because if you have more than one animal with the same heritage (like when you have twins), you can't use both animals in your lines. HP has a feature that blocks inbreeding, so even if you wanted to, you wouldn't be able to integrate all the pups into your lines.The only options you have are either to sell the pup or delete it. Most people are very private with their lines and don't want to sell pups anyway. And people who do sell their pups often have a really difficult time finding anyone that's interested, even if it's a popular breed like labs.I know for the dog breeds I do, pretty much no one else breeds the same breeds. I've had times where someone has contacted me saying they'd like pups from my lines, but it's very rare. So I just don't bother making extra pups, because I'll just have to delete them.HP isn't all that realistic, and if it was, I think it would sort of ruin what HP is about. Realism makes things more complex, and ultimately, HP is meant to be a fairly simple set up.If it were to be added as an option to buy from the store, it would need to be programmed into the store as well as into the breeding system, which obviously takes away money from doing other updates. I'm not saying no to the idea in general, but I don't see it being added unless it's something that is pretty much unanimously supported across the board. If the money can be used to implement something that 90% of people want, I think that's more beneficial to HP as a whole, rather than something that only 20% want. |

Well.. HP really shouldn't complain that there is TOO much money out there, and at the same time not offer more awesome things to purchase from the store. Every single time I'm in chat, someone says "Yeah, but HP already has too much money out there" If you guys want the money out so bad, put some more awesome things to purchase in the store for like 50mill, and that means coming up with NEW ideas people will buy. You will never pull money out otherwise, unless you take the money from the bank completely out, in which case I'd probably quit because upgrades are already a ridiculous price to have the bank removed too... I don't understand how people can't integrate them in there lines, if they purchase a license they are looking for a litter, and if you buy a litter from two different sets of breeding animals, you can breed the puppies together, and if you got an odd gender, either sell it or buy a store for it, it isn't that difficult... You wanted them, because you bought them. HP is no where near anything realistic, as I've had about 10-15 horses at our place in Canada.. No one has to really explain to me that HP is a poor reflection to real life, because it really isn't suppose to be :P Until new, and rather revolutionary ideas are introduced to the store, whether it be a puppy litter or something else that more people want, HP will continue to complain about too much being out there. |

That's what the 'Black Market' items were meant to be (de-ages, gender switches etc. able to be purchased from the store) and I'm not sure what the final player consensus was on that, but I think there were quite a few people against the idea.. I'm sure the idea of litters could be added as a black market item if we go down that road, I'm just not sure how many people want that option?As for combining them into your lines, lots of people try to breed their lines down each generation, combining lined animals, rather than buying stores all the time.. But you wouldn't be able to do that if you had multiple pups with the same lines, as HP has a built in feature that prevents inbreeding. Also, it's not HP complaining about there being too much money... It doesn't affect the game overall, since everything sort of inflates at a similar rate.. it's players that are upset that prices keep rising and when ever a new idea comes up, either from Sam, someone on the mod team or a player, there's always a group of people (small or large) that won't be happy with the outcome..Like I said, I'm not shooting down the idea (and to be honest, I have no authority to say yes or no.. ultimately it's up to Sam as it's her game). All I'm saying is that things that are going to be added in are things that the majority of HP wants.. and so far my impression is many people don't want litters of pups, and I myself wouldn't spend money to buy it either. |
