July Breed Spotlight

Each month we will pick a new rare-on-HP breed and give away a pointed pair of them in order to boost the number of breeders of that animal! We will rotate between horse breeds and dog breeds every other month!
The giveaway will be drawn, and the new breed posted on (or as close as possible to) the 15th of each month!
This month's breed is: American Cream Drafts!about American Cream DraftsAmerican Cream Drafts are a breed of horse known for their striking cream colored coat. The color is known as "Gold Champagne" which is due to a champagne dilute on a chestnut coat. They also have amber colored eyes. It is possible to have a horse with a chestnut coat, but not as common as the cream color. The skin of the horse is pink, with dark freckles. If the horse has dark skin, they are a chestnut. The horses was developed in Iowa in the United States are are used today mainly for driving. There are less than 2,000 horses of the breed - with even fewer than that registered - in the entire world which puts them at "critical" status by The Livestock Conservancy. I'm a sucker for any draft breeds, but there's something about their cream color that makes me so happy!
I would definitely have to say my favorite horse color is black or blue roan! |
