Korean Jindo Dogs are a breed of hunting dog native to Korea. They are the country’s national dog breed, as well as Korea’s 53^rd Natural Treasure. Jindos are incredibly, almost uniquely loyal dogs that form a permanent attachment with their first owner or trainer. As such, they are not used for police dogs or search-and-rescue animals because of their tendency to run away if their handlers are changed.

Jindos are very strong, brave, agile, and intelligent, useful as companions or guard dogs. They are independent and not usually sociable with unknown dogs and strangers. They train best under positive reinforcement from their owner, not outside trainers.

Korean Jindos are a Spitz-type dog, with a medium-length coat, a long nose, and a curled tail. They come in five colors: white, fawn, black & tan, gray, and brindle. They reach anywhere from 1.5 to almost 2 feet tall at the shoulder. Jindos are very clean, fastidious, and easily housebroken as puppies.

Because Jindos are so treasured in Korea, it is very difficult to find a pureblood member of the breed outside of their home country. There are only two registered Jindos in the United States (one in LA and one in Seattle).

 Jindos are new to HP! I had the honor of bringing them onto the game back in June, and my goal now is to bring attention to these cuties!

You decide to investigate the light in the trees. You try to keep your eye on it as you approach, but the light seems to waver and flit around, changing directions rapidly. As you get closer, you notice it is not one light but many, and they're floating in the air. The lights rove between the trees, spinning around each other or hovering in place, glowing softly. You've heard enough children's tales to recognize them as will-o-wisps, and they've taken notice of you.

A couple lights flit towards you without caution and then dart away. But they return quickly and you get the feeling they want to lead you somewhere. As you look around to see where, you notice that the wisps spread out in all directions but one. Indeed, they seem to adamantly avoid the north side of the forest.
