Okay so I've been out of the game for like three years and I'm back and really wanting to start some Dalmatians because I have a Dal and I'm spot crazy soooooo

How many store pairs do y'all recommend starting with and such?

Well, that really depends on what you want to do with your lines in the future, and how much time you have lol. I have 50 plus dogs for my Jindo foundations, and I'll probably condense those pups into pairs, and then their pups, etc. So eventually, future generations can have a full pedigree with no stores scattered throughout the tree.

But it's a ton of effort to train all of them lol. 

For my other breeds that aren't my focus, I usually just stick with four animals to start, two pairs. If I can keep up with the training and feel comfortable keeping up two pairs of that breed in the next generation, then we're golden. Otherwise, I just take one the offspring of both pairs and make one new pair. Having less animals also makes it easier for me to pick/plan a project/mini project animal out of the lines if ever I wanted to. 

So really, it's totally up to you! 

For my foundation lines I had / have four sets of dogs. 3 sets of 18 and one set of 2 (private lines). I am not 100% sure where I plan on going with the second generation. I will all depending on how they breed down. If I can get 4 pairs of male / female pups I will only buy one store per set to add in. Just start with whatever you feel comfortable with and go from there. :)

Anything more than 2-4 pairs and I start losing my mind. I don't know how these people with hundreds of animals do it.

It all depends on how much time you have and how much clicking you feel like doing.

I think I started with 2 pairs, and over time I just had my one line, but I added in 2 more pairs, but yea, idk how people do it with like 50 animals to train lmao xD
