Private Shows

So, I had an idea for private shows that isn't quite fully formed but maybe others could add to it. Right now it is a lot of work to enter horses in to private shows, or at least I think it is, and I think maybe there is a way to decrease the time. This would possibly work for full private shows and for just spots. Perhaps there could be a password generated for each private show and when the creator of the show gives it to the buyer then they would just have to type it in and not have to wait to be accepted? So you could automatically enter you horses. And to keep it from being abused a player could set how many horses or dogs are allowed in the show? I dunno, it's just an idea and I'm open for any other opinions or suggestions.

Me too, peach, lol.

I particularly find on my iPad that the pages time out often so it takes double the time.

Everyone basically covered the reasons why I'm not super on board with changing up private shows, because there has to be some grind and some time put in to get the high points. Otherwise privates aren't any more challenging than public shows.

With regard to removing one step, so that you're entered when someone accepts - we frequently have to fix accidentally accepted shows, and if we then had to go in and take those animals out of the show because they had already been accepted, it would be even more of an issue than it already is. A lot of people blindly accept animals into their shows and don't realize until later that someone hadn't paid, or someone wasn't supposed to be in them at all.

The password idea I think would also be an issue because then that person would be able to enter every animal they owned into the show once they had the password. Even if you could set the amount of animals - what if you're selling spots, and the first player who sees your message takes them all? And then would you have to change the password every time you made a new show or set a new one for each animal? That's super time consuming too.

Sorry to shoot you down! I'm not trying to be negative, it's just part of my job to poke holes in things/think about all of the possibilities.

With the password I thought each show would generate a password when made and would only apply to that specific show. It was only an idea so if it's not good I understand :)

I agree with Sam.

I like knowing i worked for my horses points.

Honestly if its too hard, then dont do it?!

I do most of my hping via phone(most know this)...and most of Radiant Light's ticket points and show entering have been via phone...

God, the backhanded comments and unnecessary rudeness are really putting me off of this game. Was there a reason for your comment, Aza? No, it didn't add anything to the discussion other than to try and make me look bad. I simply said I find it hard and offered a solution that I thought might work. It was only a suggestion and there is no need to try and put me down as "not willing to work for it" and that I just shouldn't train if I find it too hard.  I never said that I would stop training if it didn't get fixed and I've been playing for almost two month with a lot of private show entering while I'm sitting in a mental hospital with only mobile Internet, no wifi, so clearly I'm willing to work hard. It was merely a suggestion and I even said I understand if it doesn't work. What I don't understand why some of you  need to be so mean about it. Does it make you feel good? Do you find it fun to try and make others feel inferior? If so maybe you shouldn't be on an online game with horses that was only made to be fun and a release from the real world. I don't need to see the cruelness here  that is already part of every day life.

Woah! Let's keep this topic on track, shall we?

Lenore, I'm very sorry if you're feeling attacked, but I don't think Aza or anyone else on this thread meant to be backhandedly rude. Sometimes tone is hard to read through text, but I think everyone was just expressing their feelings on the topic of making shows easier, and not expressing them towards you. When something is posted on the suggestions board, that's everyone's cue to chime in with whether or not they'd like to see something added. Definitely no one was suggesting that you stop training or playing!

You can always directly message me with your suggestions if you don't want community input on them :). My inbox is always open!

I also love the idea of a check box! Kinda like with the club regestry :D

idk how many time I've acciadently entered 3 horses instead of 2 cuz I wasn't paying attention, or I entered the wrong horse x'D

I did want community input, I specifically asked for it, but I asked for people to add to the idea contructively, like some did, and not for people to basically say that any of us who find it very challenging either don't want to work hard or shouldn't train in private shows at all. I'm all for people saying if they agree or disagreet but there were some comments that did not need to be added, such as Aza's, because whether purposeful or not (though I think it was purposeful) is putting others down. This is a game played by adults and we should be able to talk like adults and not resort to passive aggressive and rude jibes at each other.

Aqua: I totes do that on a weekly basis too! It's made worse when I'm only doing 4 horses instead of my usual 6 on my main because the other pair's not training age...I end up having to delete a bunch of requests for non-private horses on a weekly basis!

Lenore: I'm sorry you feel that way. I honestly don't think Aza was meaning any ill will towards you with her comment. I think it was just as it was...that she likes the extra challenge of entering via her phone, because it makes her feel extra proud that she's really earned her horses' points. Like our annual training contest where one of the categories is earning the most points just from public shows...those who enter shows individually after hunting out the ones that aren't too flooded know it's a royal pain in the rear to take all that extra time, but when you see your extra efforts pay off it's that much more satisfying!

If you are struggling to enter them while on your phone with data in the hospital, you could also try and see if someone is willing to help you out with part of the process (requesting for you, or entering after they're accepted) so that there's not quite as much to do via the phone.

I guess it was just the comment of "if it's too hard just don't do it" that set me off. It was unnecessary and felt very spiteful. But whatever, I guess I'm getting used to these types of comments from a few on here.

I would do that if I had the training schedule sorted out at the moment but I'm so lost in what I need to get done myself that it's hard to explain to someone else what to do. But I might have found a steady rhythm the other day so it may be possible.

Getting into a routine will definitely help you out, especially with privates and training!

I, for example, always create all my shows and do my breedings on sundays, and if i have time request the privates. monday night i accept everyone in my shows, and if i have time after that do some training. tuesday i do more training, etc. I also always make sure my privates are created for the same days every week 10 on this or that day, etc.

Lenore, I use a chart on my page to help keep myself organized. I forget all the time whose shows I've entered, how many there are, and what we've agreed on for price. I find it helps keep everything together in one place somewhere I can remember to look at it.

It definitely is a learned process, figuring out what kind of schedule works for you, but it can be done for sure with some time. As others have said, there are players on here who'll request and enter your private shows for you in case you can't get on/don't have time/etc. Don't give up!

I do like the idea of a checkbox for privates though...
