In the old OLD days (before HL went down hill), we used to use AIM chat and have auctions? And people would actually sell horses? 

I don't know why I thought of that randomly today. I miss the old days where everyone was very active at buying and selling horses. 

I miss those auctions. I miss the overall activity that HL had. I agree that a lot of players probably grew out of SIM games or just stopped having time for them, but I'm still super happy I found HP.

For the most part, I think a lot of people are super willing to sell their lines unless, like Siib said, they're special lines. I know I'm open to it if people ask! But Tana makes a good point too that people who breed backups are tired of them not selling, so they don't unless there a special requests.

I do miss how big selling used to be though.

Hopefully HP grows steadily! More players = more sales! On the other hand, with all of us having to adult, that doesn't always translate into more buying if we don't have the time for the extra pixels.

Or have too much time and end up hoarding breeds... -cough-

I remember having spent all my time building up my stock of horses with super high points and being one of the top breeders of XYZ breed. But I instantly let all of that go as soon as I logged in and saw the jumping flash game hahaha.
