SO I JUST GOT A NEW SLOW COOKER
(THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME WORRY ABOUT BURNING MY HOUSE DOWN)
AND I NEED RECIPES FOR MEALS.

FOR CONTEXT, I WORK 10-12 HOUR DAYS AND WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TOPREP THE NIGHT BEFORE,Β
THROW FROM THE FRIDGE TO THE POT AT 6 AM, AND EAT AT 6PM.

SO... ANY SUGGESTIONS?

It was good but I think I would.... do something to remove some grease?Β  It was rather greasy.

So I did it again and drained the beef grease first, and used cottage cheese more than others and less greasy!

this one is my husband's favorite: https://belleofthekitchen.com/mississippi-pot-roast/
it's super quick and easy- but probably not really on the healthy side

not really my favorite, sometimes i feel like it's too gamey- but i'm really weird about protein in general so if it sounds good to you, don't let my personal chime discourage you.

Can't say I've ever had rabbit.... how was it? tough? stringy? Do you buy it in the supermarket or hunt it personally?

I'm making some crockpot chicken today -- mostly a little bit of this and that and cooking it on low for 8-10 hours. I've added carrots, 1 whole onion, small russet potatoes chopped in half (as mine were bigger sized), maybe 5 garlic cloves (peeled and halved), 15oz. can diced tomatoes with liquid, some salsa just to cover the chicken (we use a fresh salsa variety), can of chicken condensed soup, couple shakes Worcestshire sauce, generous dosing of dry white wine, and chicken broth. (We have trouble keeping poultry moist when cooking.)Β

Spices, I added: couple of bay leaves, whole, generous shakes of salt, pepper, basil, lemon pepper, tarragon leaves, and some cajun seasoning (but paprika or dash of cayenne would work well if cajun seasoning is hard to find that up north). Gave the whole thing a bit of a stir -- there wasn't so much liquid in there as to be soupy but just moist enough, I hope. I might add more liquid as it cooks. I also chopped up the chicken instead of leaving it whole -- not into tiny pieces but good sized chunks for butter knives later.Β

Thinking of serving over quinoa or rice, putting some green beans on side, and maybe a salad.Β

Made this Potato Soup in Crock Pot Recipe & really like it! I do not remember where online I found it though! D:

I took out the chopped onion and replaced with a can of whole kernel corn (strain the water/juice out before mixing in).
Added the pre-cooked bacon bits that people use for salads and soups too!

With the heat and not wanting to majorly heat up my kitchen, I've been looking at crockpot and pressure cooker recipes to add to my meal plan this week. I think I'm gonna do this or similar, served over mashed potatoes instead of noodles: https://www.eatingonadime.com/slow-cooker-salisbury-steak-meatballs-recipe/

YES! I've been doing a lot of varities of meatballs lately.

Current favorite is toss in meatballs, top with a jar of butter chicken sauce from the store ('cuz I am WAY too lazy to make my own), add a few of the random indian-type spices I've managed to accumulate, cook all day on low and serve with rice and naan.

Oooo, that sounds good. I'm gonna use a jarred tikka masala sauce and add chickpeas as my protein, then serve with rice. I'll probably wind up tossing that in the crockpot too.
