I'm talking late 90's, early 00's. Sporks and toasters. Absent. Just Better. Deych. Before shockwave, before any sort of graphics aside from the really, really old ones (some of which are still on their site, which makes me laugh) and when the game was setup through cgi-bin workings...

I miss the community. Before I was a part of the "elite" group, they might not have talked to me much BUT for the most part everyone was friendly. There were always some crazies and trolls, of course. But I would sign onto AIM and immediately get invited to hl chats or auctions. It was pretty fun (at the time). There were always rude people but I think people kept a lot of it to themselves or amongst their little clique instead of bringing everyone down.

I also miss the time I spent at my BFF's house - she was my partner - we'd stay up till all hours of the morning training (before we 'figured it out' as far as scripting) and eat snacks, listen to music, play neopets on the side, write notebooks full of name ideas for horses... hahahaha. Ohhh childhood.

And the old, old training, with the stupid tree picture. I don't miss the actual training, because that sucked, but I miss that time.

I remember those crazy aim auctions! I used to host them occasionally and it was a flipping nightmare lol.

I miss the way we could enter as many shows that we wanted, but not the training method LOL. I miss the money I had on HL O.o

All of my friends and I used to play so we would always talk about it & play with each other and have partner accounts as well...I miss the friends I had in HL and also the friends I had outside of it too

Oh man!  Soooo many things!  I loved searching Dreamhorse for the next image I wanted to use for my horses because ummmmm there wasn't such thing as picture credits and stock then hehehe.  I loved loved loved how steep the competition was running for clubs.  Oh an of course my runescape auto clicker for training. hahahha

I remember when I first started learning to make pictures on Microsoft Paint. *cringe*

I miss being able to talk to my riding lesson buddies on Saturday mornings about playing the game and updating them on which horse was doing good or who had babies and sold for how much. Other than that I don't remember too much! xD

Anything I miss if implemented here would make me furious.. so I guess its not really a missing thing haha. 

I guess I kinda miss how excited it was when I was a little kirre.. like getting your first premi and stuff was a HUGE deal.. whereas adult me just puts in her pay pal and its done.. it seems less of a huge deal haha 

Theres a few people I do miss.. but tbh I loved horseisle more than horseland haha but they managed to kill that game too :( 

I never really played HL properly, but I guess the thing I 'miss' most about it is the HUGE community! Some days I wish HP was that huge, but then again I really enjoy our smaller community where most of the active players know each other :)

I also miss the GORGEOUS propix of course ;)

I had a few friends that I went to school with that originally got me into it. We'd talk and all that between classes, try and learn coding together.

Also just having no clue what I was doing and still having fun.

And there was this Akhal-Teke project! Only thing I ever really took part in, and I think that was really what got me into the breed. He was named Sahane and got to like... 300k. Back when that was a thing.

woahhhh 300k! I remember my biggest accomplishment was a horse with 50k points and I bought it with 20k already on it haha ~go for gold~

I forgot about Deych and Just Better and Absent... I was trying to remember stuff from HL the other day and the one that came to mind was Frillseeker, lol.  And that girl who always had the amazing pictures - I can't think of her name, but I want to say it starts with a C or something... usually western type horses on beaches, if I recall correctly.  Those were like, the BOMB back then.  I remember BEGGING my mom to send in a check so I could play, and then waiting for account to upgrade.  Wasn't it like $29 for a year?

I know who you're talking about... I didn't hear about her until I got started here but I can't remember her name either. @_@;;;;;

Her pictures were so popular.  I want to say she was maybe one of the first to have awesome customized pics like that.  Everyone envied them!
