My Cockatiels Odie and Luna finally gave me some babies! Luna laid 3 eggs, two of which hatched. The babies are a week old tomorrow (Saturday)!

Here are some photos! The photo with the yellow fuzz is from today, and the white fuzz was taken yesterday.




They are suuuuper ugly, but they will get cuter in approximately 3-4 weeks time lol.

I weighed them today, and the white fuzz baby isn't gaining enough weight, and each time i've checked them, his/her crop has been empty. Healthy weight for their age is 6-12 grams, and while yellow fuzz weighs in at a healthy 10 grams, poor white fuzz only weighs 5, so he/she will be pulled tomorrow and hand fed.

Zoe got her first big girl cage today. And the heat lamp is off!
We're going in to the vet hopefully Saturday to get her checked over and get some antibiotics if she still needs them but other than that she's doing super well. She's getting super close to taking her first flight.

She needs a good long soak in some warm water to loosen the dry formula that I missed on her feathers and i'll be taking care of that later today.

5.5 weeks old! (she does not have red feathers on her chest and wing, her beta-carotene is red and she's a messy eater and it goes everywhere).
She's almost as big as Bandit! (green cheek conure)

Yup! And we have an appointment on Saturday with an avian vet to get her respiratory infection treated. 2 hours away lol. But yay finally. Then she can finally focus on just being a healthy baby bird

I saw the super cute video of little miss flying!  She looks so much like a bird now!  She's looking really pretty!!! ☺

Miss Zoe at the vets today:

It went well! Vet said her chest sounded clear and the upper respiratory swab was clear too. Her poop sample didn't return anything of concern, but because she is making a ticking/clicking noise when she breathes and sounds raspy, she's on a 7 day course of antibiotics which should clear any issues up!

Vet was thrilled with zoe's physical exam and zoe handled the whole experience like a pro!

It's so hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago she used to look like a horror movie prop! Haaaa

She's such a pretty girly.

I figured those who don't have me on facebook may be interested in an update on Zoe.

A little while ago I sent off some feather samples for DNA gender testing so I could be 100% sure of her gender. I got the results back yesterday and she is most definitely a girl, so she gets to keep her name! XD

She turns 9 weeks old tomorrow. She is on one formula feed per day, and has finally reached the stage where she wants to try everything i'm eating, which is the perfect time to get her to try fresh fruits and veggies. She has become the master of flying and has taken to flying away the second she's done eating in attempt to avoid having her face cleaned (doesn't work) which is both really cute and really infuriating, as she has figured out the spots where I can't reach her lol.
