Thought I would start an offical thread for this baby because I know I'm gonna be posting WAYYYY to many photos of him, haha. So here is an introduction and then, as promised, a bunch of photos!

We were unsure of how Jackson would do in turn out. Where he was was a strict show barn, so not all of the horses are turned out, like in a "completely" free way. They are usually supervised in smaller arenas or worked in the round without a line so they can buck and run and stuff kinda with supervision. He had been turned out before on his own, but not in that big of an area. He did make me a bit nervous. He runs really close to rails and then ran at full speed towards one of the corners and slide to a stop and banged his knee on the rail. he calmed down and figured out where he could safely put his legs and calmed down pretty quick after that. Made me nervous, haha. He hasn't hit any rails or done anything risky since. That's why he's all booted up, just to be safe, haha.

 I gave little Jackson a bath last week and then made my friend hold him for photos, haha. I'm so obsessed with this horse. 

He needs to be in magazines. :D

A few of him in the round. He's so silly. This day he literally jogged out of his pen and up to the round pen (the entire length of the propery basically, like 20 acres) and then when I put him in the round and asked him to trot, he didn't wanna go! He got rid of all his energy on his little jog up. :p

And finally, this is my new favorite photo of him. I wish his mane would get like an inch and a half longer so it would go past his neck enough to be seen from the other side. :p He's close! I'm taking better care of his mane than his previous home (not that they were bad, he just wasn't showing so it wasn't always braided up and stuff) and it will grow a bit.

Gosh they are all so beautiful! Jackson is so photogenic!

Mane Update!!
So when jackson's head is down and level and where it should be when he's in a show ring, his mane should be able to be seen from the other side. When it's up and he's looking around, it isn't. SO we are getting there! Either way, there is a huge improvement from since I got him. It is longer and it is much healtiher looking.

Even though people seem to be tired of my constant photos, I'm still gonna update :p

I had an awesome lesson on Mr. Jackson on Friday. He is such a saint. It was the frist time I really sent him for a stop. I haven't asked a horse to stop hard for about four years since Catt didn't stop, Fred is retired, and the horses I ride now, other than Jackson, are cutters. Cutters don't slide. We are all blessed if they stop. X.x

Anyway, this little horse saved my butt. He was so honest and slide every time he stopped even if the stridng was wrong and I was a little out of position. He's such a cool horse and I'm just really excited to show him. 34 days!

Long time no update!
Sorry, life has been super hectic. Done with finals and I have a big exam for my credential program tuesday whcih I am most likely going to fail (I can take it again 45 days later) and just work in general is insane.

Anyway! Jackson has been going super. Benn pushing him a little harder because of the show coming up, and he's going fantastic. 
It is a good feeling to know that no matter what happens, even I just lope through my first pattern and don't really send him, he will still be fine and we will get through it without too much trouble. He really doesn't buck, rear, bolt, kick out, or even raise his head. His one vice is he gets happy feet and swaps leads sometimes when he shouldn't, but he'll switch right back. If I just remember to hold my leg and keep him bridled up through the center he shouldn't even try to change. He always lets me know he's going to change, so I can stop him before he does.

PROFESSIONALS CHOICE PARKING LOT SALE!!!!

Every year, Professionals Choice, which has its head office in San Diego has a HUGE sale of all their overstock where everything is 50-70% off. So of course,I go! And it just happens to fall the week before my B-day, so ya know...convienant. :p
I got two pads (1 work, 1 show), two pairs of front boots (1 work, 1 show), one pair of bell boots (show), and a pair of skid boot s(work show) all for $300. Which is HUGE, because usually 1 prof choice pad is $270, haha
