I did a retirement breeding thinking I wanted to start up some of my lines again but decided to save money and wait till the spring.  This Paint filly is for sale!  Has 5millers, 4millers,& 2millers!  I believe Moorfine is the only one that has part of this family.

Not sure how much I want for her, or how much she's actually worth!  :D

I'd have been willing to pay up to 800m since Kaly and I are splitting the cost but even then that was a huge stretch for me. Sort of sad to see this insane bidding war because it very likely means that it's not going to be worth me looking to invest in bringing in other lines to my own. I can afford it sure, but I'm not really willing to fight over lines like this.

and this is why I usually just pair up with jd when nice aqh lines come up. Split the cost and save money over all and then just twin breed or an 18/20 split :)

Maha, that's what Kaly and I were going to do but neither of us thought spending 500m EACH on a foal with 300k pts and nice lines was worth it when we both have horses we can retirement breed for similar results. :( 

Such a shame I'm never selling Star Vault lines again, I'm guessing I could make a killing right now. Although if I did ever sell agian they're for sure going to a very established breeder and not the highest bidder.

Lenore, not trying to be passive aggressive but simply stating the facts. If prices on paints are going to be driven up like this then I will not be buying outside lines anymore because I’m not going to be overpaying by this much  Love Amberellie and her lines but past 400m it was all a bit insane and although I did want the foal I realized I didn’t want it bad enough to spend a billion all considering.

Congratulations on winning but it’s definitely not great for the rest of us that suddenly we aren’t going to be able to even get decent foals without spending nearly a billion for them. There are a ton of paint breeders with nice lines, and a lot of them I at least own a couple from (there’s a list on my page actually if you’re curious to see), and until this bidding war it was never this competitive to buy a foal. So yes, it’s frustrating and I think I’m allowed to voice my disappointment that the community is obviously going to change now that the prices are going to be high any time bidding is involved. 

Also if you’re refencing about the highest bidder on my Star Vault Lines comment that’s because I DID sell a foal to the highest bidder and always wished I’d taken the lower bid and sold to someone I was closer to because of how important these lines are to me. Wasn’t trying to reference you directly. But I do realize you weren’t here when that happened so you wouldn’t know about that auction. But rest assured, it was not a comment directed at you it was just me stating that if I ever do sell those lines again, which is already extremely unlikely, they are going to an established breeder and specifically one of the ones I’m closer to.

I think the competitiveness of getting this foal is because it's a popular breed on this game that has several very competitive players breeding them seriously, which is great! It doesn't mean that people should stop breeding the breed because they think they can't compete. Siibs, you have amazing lines without this foal, and not getting this foal doesn't mean you can't compete with your own lines you've worked really hard to achieve! Not winning a bidding war on an awesome foal doesn't mean you should quit doing a breed...these things just happen.

I just want to say one last thing. You obviously thought she was really worth something too Siib as your final bid was 900 million. If you had thought the bids were too high you would have stopped much earlier. You even threw down the first bid of 100 million, and set the bidding high by doing so, because I don't really think you expected anyone to challenge you. You even told people not to even try. However, if you had won her this wouldn't even be a discussion right now. To me it seems that you are only upset because you didn't win and in a way you are attacking amber and I because the foal didn't go to the rightful "established breeders" (aka you) like you wanted it to. But amber is not you and she was allowed to sell to whomever she wanted and she shouldn't be made to feel bad because she chose to sell this foal for money so she could start another project. 

This was one time and I really wanted this foal so I gave everything. Saying you're going to give up on a breed you worked very hard on all because in this instance it didn't go your way seems a bit silly to me. It's also funny because 950 million was going to be my last bid, as I couldn't afford more, but I only ended up paying 250 million for her. I went against two established players pooling their money, fully expecting to lose, and I won. I feel pretty proud of that.

By the way the cliqueness that you and others create on here really needs to stop. It was part of what made HL dramatic and not as fun and I really don't enjoy watching it here again. We're all in our 20s now and there is no reason this should feel like high school. You don't get to decide who is worthy or not. I'd expect better behavior from a Mod.

Your lines are wonderful Siib, though I'm sure after this I will never be allowed any of them again, and I really don't think you should give up on Paints. You have put a lot of yourself into your pixels and I know this but us newbies to HP are trying to work hard too. Just give us a chance and don't put us down as unworthy. We all started somewhere. I hope we can put this behind us as I have a lot of respect for what you've created in your time here. It is, in the end, just a game and should be played with fun.

Siib, as you said yourself, you could always do retirement breedings! You'd have secure lines and you wouldn't have to deal with the drama of bidding wars. :)

I'm gonna have to agree with Blitz: competition is good. I dunno how many people I've heard complaining that no one buys foals anymore or that HP is not as happening or as competitive as HL was (in terms of having the top lines, foals, etc.) and now that it happens, there are unhappy parties still. You can't have it both ways, so pick what you really want.

Personally, I respect what others have worked for on here. I've tried to bid on others' lovely backups and lost, and that's just too bad for me. If you're not willing to or can't pay the price, move on.

Just my opinion, though, but I think a foal with lines that contain minimum 2millers should be considered far more than just decent and should therefore sell for higher bids...
